Suissa Computers

Custom computers and peripherals

While living and working in Japan, I came up with an idea for a different type of computer company. One that broke the cycle of consumerism in technology. It was a simple idea that aimed to change the way people viewed technology in their lives.

The idea was to make a computer so beautiful that you wouldn't want to dispose of it when the internal components needed upgrading. It would become a heirloom piece that was part of the family. We aimed to create an emotional connection to digital living.

1. Client

Suissa Computers was my first tech startup. My partner and I took the business from concept to completion performing all aspects from sales to builds, marketing and PR to promotion.

2. Challenge

To enter a big player market and carve out a niche.

3. Solution

We launched Suissa Computers at the IDEX design show in Toronto and re-framed the conversation about computers from something that was cold technology you used and discarded to something that was emotional and worth keeping. in one year we went form nothing to #1 on Wired magazines Christmas Wish List.
